- Your manuscript is written in English or Afrikaans
- Your manuscript is well-written - it can be any genre
- Your manuscript is neatly typed out on a single Microsoft Word document
- Your manuscript is a minimum of 40,000 words (except for poetry, cookbooks, children's books, or picture books)
- You are willing to trust our expertise on what makes a book commercially saleable
- You are enthusiastic about participating in house culture e.g. attending book launches, signings at bookstores, or other events our company hosts for our authors
How to submit a manuscript to us for publishing consideration:
- Email submissions@krestpublishers.co.za and put your book title in the subject line
- Include the full manuscript
- Include a cover letter that tells us about yourself, your book, and the budget you have
- Allow us a 2-3 week response time as we receive countless manuscripts every day, and we want to give your book the proper attention it deserves
What it costs to publish with us:
- Publishing costs can range from as much as R200,000+ to as little as R40,000 depending on your vision for your book (e.g. the type of paper, the amount of colour on the pages, the print quantity)
- Should your manuscript be accepted for publication through our company, we will have a discussion about your detailed vision for your book and advise you on the above options that fit within your budget
